Let the Remarkable Become Routine 2

Bible passage: Luke 5:18-26
“18. Some men came carrying a paralytic on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus. 19. When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus. 20. When Jesus saw their faith, he said, "Friend, your sins are forgiven."

There are many weird things happening these days. As weird forms of crime that were unheard of or unseen in the past appear, many names related to crimes are also strange. For example, there are words such as psychopath and sociopath, which are phenomena caused by antisocial and self-centered personality disorders, and they are a type of very unstable psychology or chronic mental illness that causes extreme crimes.

There are also words such as stalking and gaslighting, and many weird and bizarre crimes are happening all over the world in this era. However, the scripture we just read is not a weird thing, but it is written that something remarkable happened. Verse 26 says, “They were all struck with astonishment and began glorifying God; and they were filled with fear, saying, “We have seen remarkable things today.”

A paralytic who had suffered from severe stroke and could not move at all and had to lie down met Jesus and was healed, and then he got up and walked, carrying his mat. Those who were watching this scene opened their mouths wide and said, “This is remarkable,” and gave glory to God. The enemy devil, the ruler of this world, incites people to sin and evil, causing many weird, bizarre, and evil things to happen in this world, but God, who is powerful and loving, solves things that people cannot do, and causes many amazing, happy, and remarkable things that go beyond imagination to happen.
