Genesis Lecture 5 (Division of Spirit 2)

Bible passage: Genesis 1:1
“ In the beginning God created heavens and the earth”

This is the fifth lecture on Genesis.

In the last lecture, I explained the Division of Spirit that only God the Trinity can perform. Among them, I told you about the Division of Spirit that God the Father and God the Son does. I begin this lecture with the division of Spirit performed by God the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit also has His own original entity and divided entities. God the Holy Spirit is one of God the Trinity. He was of the division from God the Origin (Original God).

As an individual being like God the Father and the Lord, He also has assumed a human-like image. I will call the original entity of "God, the Holy Spirit' just 'the Holy Spirit' from now on. The Holy Spirit can also divide Himself to many entities like God the Father and the Lord do. The most well known divided entity of the Holy Spirit is "the Holy Spirit that dwells in the heart of God's children." He dwells in you, doesn’t He? Anyone who accepts the Lord as his or her Savior, The Holy Spirit sends His divided entity to the person.

Furthermore, He works greater and greater in you as you prayer more fervently and become more holy. The divided entity Himself that is separated from God the Holy Spirit who is the Holy Spirit we call. Of course, we may call the Holy Spirit who dwells in our heart "God the Holy Spirit." However, you should remember that 'the Holy Spirit" that is mentioned in the majority of the references to Him in the bible are referring to the divided spirit of God the Holy Spirit. The Sprit of God the Holy Spirit has worked not only as 'the Holy Spirit' but also as various other names and forms.

First, in the days of the Old Testament, He appeared mostly as "the Spirit." For example, 1 Chronicles 12:18 says, "Then the Spirit came upon Amasai, who was the chief of the thirty." Ezekiel 43:5 also says, "And the Spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court; and behold, the glory of the LORD filled the house." I will explain later from what perspective the Holy Spirit is called the Spirit. I mean I will explain it today, not next week. The Holy Spirit was called the Spirit in the Old Testament.

There’s a reason why the Holy Spirit's name is slightly different? But, most of people ignore or know nothing about it so some Christians pray in the name of God the Father, God the Son, and the Spirit. Anyway, in the New Testament, God the Holy Spirit is called the Holy Spirit, so it is correct to pray in the name of God the Father, God the Son, and Holy Spirit. Although there are several English versions of the Bible, it is best to use the Lord's Prayer exactly as the Lord taught it in the Bible, without phrasing out or adding a single word. Because the Bible must come first, and prayers must be written and used as intended in the Bible without changing any word. Other names for the dividend entity of the Holy Spirit are "the Helper" as in John 14:26, "the Spirit of truth" as in John 14:17, "a new heart and a new spirit" as in Ezekiel 36:26, and "the Spirit of His Son" as in Galatians 4:6. When it is said here that it is the Spirit of the His son, some people understand it to be the Spirit of Jesus.

As you read the bible, you can find that the divided entities of the Holy Spirit appeared in various forms. In Matthew 3:16, when Jesus was baptized at the Jordan River, "the Spirit of God" descended as a dove. In Acts Chapter 2, the Holy Spirit came down like "a violent rushing wind" and "a tongue of fire." Likewise, the Holy Spirit can appear in various forms. However, He can also appear in the form of His original entity. Just as the Spirit of the Lord is like the image of the Lord, the Holy Spirit can also appear in the same image of His original entity. The Holy Spirit is still appearing in the image of the original entity in the dreams or vision of many people. However, they don't recognize the Holy Spirit because they don't know Holy Spirit's original look.

Moreover, there are many people who don't think the Holy Spirit has a man form. They imagine that the Holy Spirit is in the form of fire, a wind, or that of a dove. They lock their thoughts within a boundary. There was the time when the original entity of the Holy Spirit came down to this earth. The original entity of God the Son came down to this earth as Jesus and became the Christ. Likewise, the original entity of the Holy Spirit also came down to this earth temporarily and accomplished the providence of God. I will also explain later in this series on Genesis. Dear brothers and sisters. I told you earlier that signs and wonders follow and grace comes upon us as the Spirit of the Lord is together with us. It is the same as the Holy Spirit, the divided entity of God the Holy Spirit comes down.

First of all, Acts 1:8 says, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; How does the Holy Spirit come to you? God gives you the Holy Spirit as a gift. When you confess and accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, the Holy Spirit is given as a gift in your heart. The Bible says that you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you. What power has come upon you? Now you can pray, root out the temptations of the world, and fight sin. However, you can manifest the power of God when you go to the spirit with being armed with Word of God. As how much you become a spiritual person, the power of God will be upon you. But strictly speaking, when you go to the spirit, the Ability of God will be upon you, and when you go to the whole spirit, the power of God that makes the blind open their eyes, the dumb speak, the deaf hear and the lame walk will be upon you.

The power of God can even revive the dead transcending time and space. Some workers and servants of the Lord are showing the power of God around the world with handkerchiefs, but you can do it too. In the following the verse, “You shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth." You should be witnesses of Jesus Christ.

When the Holy Spirit comes down, the work of God's power takes place. Also, Acts 2:17-18 says, "AND IT SHALL BE IN THE LAST DAYS,' God says, 'THAT I WILL POUR FORTH OF MY SPIRIT ON ALL MANKIND; AND YOUR SONS AND YOUR DAUGHTERS SHALL PROPHESY, AND YOUR YOUNG MEN SHALL SEE VISIONS, AND YOUR OLD MEN SHALL DREAM DREAMS; EVEN ON MY BONDSLAVES, BOTH MEN AND WOMEN, I WILL IN THOSE DAYS POUR FORTH OF MY SPIRIT And they shall prophesy." In other words, if you receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, you can prophesy, see visions and dream. As the verse goes, this is a natural thing to do in church and believers should be like this Likewise , when the Holy Spirit ‘s coming down, various divine gifts are given such as prophesying and seeing visions.

1 Corinthians Chapter 12 gives more detailed explanation about the gifts of the Holy Spirit. They are the gifts such as the word of wisdom, the word of knowledge, faith, healing, he manifestation of miracles, the prophecy, the distinguishing of spirits, the various kinds of tongues, the interpretation of tongues, and so on. Especially here, the word of wisdom is not a gift that can be easily received. On the other hand, the gift of knowledge can be received depending on how much you learn and study the Word. Therefore, after receiving the gift of knowledge, church workers and servants of the Lord must receive the gift of wisdom so that they can use it when preaching or visiting believers. There is a difference between reading and learning a lot and using it wisely.

In this way, the gift of wisdom is given by the Holy Spirit within me, allowing me to deeply understand and utilize the Word in various situations. In short, if possible, it means you entrust everything to the Holy Spirit. Of course, it is not true that all these gifts are given when the Holy Spirit comes down. According to the will of the Holy Spirit, He gives the gifts to those who have prepared proper vessels. By the way, the most important role of the Holy Spirit is to teach the children of God in the way of Truth. It is just as Jesus said in John 16:13, "But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth." God the Holy Spirit knew our weakness, and sent the Holy Spirit to our hearts.

As the children of God commit sin, the Holy Spirit intercedes for us with groaning too deep for words. He also reminds God's children of God's will and help them realize the love of God. The Holy Spirit keeps on helping them grow their faith so that they can take a better heaven by force. I urge you to receive such great and tender care of the Holy Spirit with great thanks. I hope that you will listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit clearly, and that you will make obedience to the Holy Spirit’s guidance. I already taught you how to listen to the Voice of the Holy Spirit. Some training is needed to listen to It clearly as I said. After you are trained and discern which is His Voice, you should obey it without any reason If you disobey the Voice, even though you listen to it, then you will be not able to listen to it again. When you obey it even though it sounds small, you will listen to it more and more clearly. Actually, this is not difficult. All you have to do is keep it in mind and do it. Even new believers can hear the voice of the Holy Spirit.

How is that possible? If a new believer longs for the Word and begins to practice small things to enter the spirit, he will be guided by the Holy Spirit. If you are guided to fast, fast right away, and if you are guided by Him that you need to offer a vowed prayer, pray without changing your plans. If you do this, you will clearly hear the voice of the Holy Spirit. May you be in the fullness of the Holy Spirit all the time and march on forward to Heaven and New Jerusalem in happiness of heart, in the name of the Lord, Jesus Christ I pray! Dear brothers and sisters in Christ. Now, let's take a close look at the meanings of names applied to God the Trinity when They work as a divided entity. It's very important to correctly understand the names of God the Trinity. Depending on how to name God the Trinity, the relationship between you and God may change, as well as the answers and blessings that are received can be affected. Let's take an example. Say, there is the head of a big enterprise. The employees of the company may call him, "the Chairman," or "CEO." However, his son may call him "father." This is so natural to the son.

However, there are situations in which it may be better for his son to call his father "chairman" as well. If the son is working in the company and his father is the chairman, in an official meeting, it would be better for the son to address his father as "Mr. Chairman" and not as "Dad". Actually, this is very reasonable. If your father is the CEO of the company, you should call him “Mr. Chairman” instead of “father” at work. It's not wrong to call him 'father' or 'Dad', but in official situations it is better for him to call his father 'Mr. Chairman'. However, suppose there is a man who calls him just 'a man'. Then, we can say that this person probably knows nothing about him. When the son calls his father “father”, or “ the chairman”, or “ a man”, which would make their relationship better?

It’s obviously when his son calls him 'father.' The way we call others can affect the nature of our relationships with them Most of the members of the congregation of this church call me "Senior Pastor." And there are some who recently came to this church, or who came from outside this church to receive my prayer may call me 'Pastor.' Those who don't know anything about me may simply address me as 'Mr. Lee'. Well, Actually, even though people don't know me at all, they usually address me as "Sir" Now, if these three people ask me to pray for themselves, which one will I feel closer to me? And, which one can be said to know me best? It is the one who calls me "Senior Pastor."

The same principle applies to our God the Father. Because this part is very important, I am explaining it using metaphor You may call Him, "God," "the LORD God," "God the Father," or "Abba Father." Each of the names can represent the level of intimacy between the caller and God. And answers and blessings may vary according to how to call God. Our Jesus always called God the Father, "Father." You know that the Lord has many names that are “Jesus Christ” “the Lord” and “our Lord Jesus Christ” When I refer to the Lord as Jesus while preaching, it is when I am explaining the situation before He was crucified. Therefore, the name of the Lord is also different depending on the situation. However, when He was hung on the cross as a sinner who took all the sin of the world, Jesus called Him, "GOD." You cannot call God Father when you have sinned. It is very disrespectful to God when you sin and call Him Father.

God wants children without sin. God does not raise as His children who commit sin and go to death. So, the Bible records that God ignores those who pray with sin. God doesn’t listen to those who pray with committing the flesh work. It never makes sense those who do it call God Father. When you commit sin, you need to call God just God when praying. To keep a close relationship with Father God, you should pray to Him without any sin, and God the Father answers you “My child, I’m listening to you.” I've told you that there is a difference between when you pray in the name of 'Jesus' and in the name of 'Jesus Christ.' Matthew 1:21 says, "She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins." It means He will save souls. In short, the name is for the time before the Savior. Jesus is 'the One who will save His people from their sins'. Jesus means that He will bear the cross and redeem our sin behalf of us and be Savior in the future. In other words, He is before becoming the Savior.

As Jesus died on the cross, broke the authority of death, and resurrected, He became "Jesus Christ." Therefore, "Jesus" is the name before He broke the authority of death, but "Jesus Christ" is the name given with authority that broke the power of death. so, “Jesus” and “Jesus Christ” are the difference between heaven and earth. "Christ" is the same as "Messiah," and it refers to the One who is the Savior." Therefore, it is more proper to pray in the name of "Jesus Christ," rather than in just the name of "Jesus." We Manmin pray in the name of Jesus Christ, not only Jesus. If some among you pray in the name of Jesus, please pray in the way you learned today.

When doing is so, your prayer has much powerful to receive answers. When you pray in the name of "Jesus Christ," you can drive away the devil and Satan. They tremble in fear and go away. It is because the name "Jesus Christ" contains the meaning that Jesus broke the authority of death and resurrected. Since Apostle Paul clearly knew such spiritual meaning, he favored the use of "our Lord Jesus Christ." The name, the Lord is the simple name of Jesus Christ. Apostle Paul enjoyed calling the Lord “our Lord Jesus Christ” to emphasize the Lord. It’s the same way with Abba Father when calling God the Father. Likewise, it is important to know how to correctly understand and use the names of God the Trinity. In the bible, there are about 30 names to call on God the Trinity. I hope you fully understand them. You can be a spiritual church worker as much as you understand the word of God spiritually.

Dear brothers and sisters. Do you remember the difference between the record of the Bible saying "God," and when it says "the LORD God"? When it says "God", except in some special cases, is named when 'God the Trinity' working together. On the other hand, when it says, 'Jehovah', 'the LORD' or "the LORD God," God the Father was done His work. Let me say it again. This is too important to emphasize enough. Please remember when “God” refers and when “the LORD (in all caps)”or ”the LORD God” God refers to when God the Trinity, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit works together with some exceptional cases. The LORD or the LORD God refers to when God the Father works His own. Since God the Father worked by Himself in the days of the Old Testament, He was called ‘Jehovah’, or ’the LORD’ in the Old Testament Therefore, there are many passages in the Old Testament where the subject is the LORD or the LORD God, because in many cases God the Father worked alone. But those words are not found in the New Testament. In the New Testament, God the Son and the Holy Spirit also work with God the Father.

When God the Father is referred to in the New Testament, He is called "Father," "Abba Father," or "God our Father." It is because, God is the Ruler of the people in the Old Testament, people who accept Jesus Christ become the children of God. Now you can understand the difference between "God" and "the LORD" (written in all capital letters). To make it simple, "God" refers to "God the Trinity," but "the LORD" (written in all caps) is only "God the Father". I hope you understand these for sure. When God the Father worked as "the LORD" in the days of the Old Testament, so the full capital written name the “LORD” only appear in the Old Testament of the Bible. In the New Testament of the Bible, He is called "Our Father God." Now it’s clear why the LORD is found in the Old Testament but not in the New Testament. Isn’t it?

So, there are terms in the Bible such as "the Spirit of God" and "the Spirit of the Lord." They sound so difficult but you will discern them when doing best to understand them. And surely the names should be called according to different situations. It wouldn't be appropriate to simply call your father 'Father' at work. In a business setting, you should address him as 'Mr.Chairman” How different are they and when are they used? To help you understand better, I'll illustrate it for you. Say, there is a son who resembles his father so exactly Then, there may be 2 groups of people. One group might say that the son’s look is almost the same with his father.

The son is the spitting image of his father. You got it? However, the other group can focus on his son’s personality such as gentleness or hot temper, saying “ He is sweet and kind like his father.” , or saying “ He is hot tempered like his father.” Again, it focuses on personality. It is the same with the names of God. The Spirit as one of God’s names in the Old Testament and that of the New Testament has different meanings. Sometimes, there are names that focus primarily on the image of God. The Spirit in Old Testament times refers to the outer appearance of God Some other times, there are names that emphasize the heart spirit and being of God. and that in New Testament times to the inner personality of God. Here, the Spirit refers to the attributes of God such as truth, goodness, and love.

Likewise, when you read the Bible, discerning which verses are focusing on God’s look , or God’s mind, they are easy to understand. There are 2 meanings of the spirit, one means the opposite things to the “flesh”, all the untruths and the other means “immortal”. Herein refers to the first one. When the name of God that focuses on the inner personality of God, it emphasizes the attributes of His spirit, love, truth, and gentleness not the appearance of God. Also, it doesn’t mean “immortal things or beings” but the attributes that belong to the Light and Truth. The second meaning is immortal things, and spiritual beings such as Angels and Satan belong to the spiritual realm.

The first meaning refers to attributes belongs to the Light and Truth such as love and goodness. When we call people or something ‘a spiritual man’, or ‘a spiritual meeting.’, it doesn’t mean they are spiritual beings like angels. It means the man or the meeting has attribute of the Light and the truth such as love and goodness. So, do we call only those who have been into spirit as spiritual people? As mentioned earlier, if a group or a person possesses the attributes of God's light and truth, we can be called a spirit group, a spirit person, or a spirit worker. So, you just have to understand the difference between the Spirit, name of God, in the Old Testament and the New Testament. However, it doesn’t mean that the Spirit in the New Testament worked with no form at all.

Even when God the Trinity works in Their divided entity, they have a certain form. If one felt God's inner personality more when he was influenced by God's work, the name of God emphasized what God embraced in His heart. Vice versa, the Spirit in the Old Testament doesn’t mean that He just worked without His heart. When a person influenced by work of God felt more God’s appearance, the name of God emphasized how God looked. People called God the Trinity diverse names depending on which part of God they felt more. BY the way, God’s names in the Old Testament mainly focus on God’s appearance. The people of the Old Testaments didn't feel the heart of God well.

And so, as they received the work of God, they described Him focusing on His appearance. People in the Old Testament did not know that God was a God of love. They believed and served God as a fearful God like Job in the book of Job. On the other hand, the people of the New Testament can feel the heart of God. It is because, through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, it is possible for us to communicate with God in spirit. Therefore, The Spirit in the Old Testament and that of the New Testament has different meanings. Now , you understand “ the Spirit” as one of God’s name in the Old Testament and the New Testament, don’t you? You may apply the same principle to the names that refer to the Lord and the Holy Spirit as well. Now, let's conclude it. "God" refers to God the Trinity in general, but "the LORD (in all caps)”, "the Lord," and "the Holy Spirit" refers to God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit respectively. And in the days of the Old Testament, there are names that are used to refer to God focusing on the outward form of God. And there are names in the days of the New Testament, emphasizing the inner personality of God.

What about "the Spirit of the LORD (written in all capital letters)"? I explained earlier that the term "Jehovah", "the LORD" only appears in the Old Testament. Therefore, the name, "the Spirit of the LORD" (in all caps) appears only in the Old Testament to focus on the outward form of God. However, there are some expressions in the Bible that this principle doesn't apply. And there is a reason for that, but I'll come back to this in the future case by case. I hope you all understand well up to the point I explained today.

If you are still confused, please listen again and read the following. You are bound to understand them. Only when you understand this content can you understand it more deeply when you pray and read the Bible. The more deeply you understand the spiritual world, the greater power you can receive from the Holy Spirit. Knowledge is power. You must know the spirit world so that you can use the knowledge of the spirit and receive greater power. I hope you don’t miss this chance.
